Cooking Game Work Process

A game made in collaboration with my brother: me being the art director and designer, and my brother being the programmer and developer. It’s a slightly fictional slightly anecdotal game about my relationship and love for cooking. Cooking and food in general is such a large part of Korean culture, and there are many quirks about it that I find amusing—whether it be about how there is often many ingredients leftover or how recipes don’t give actual measurements—it makes cooking a new experience every time. I also had to resort to learning how to cook due to the lack of authentic Korean restaurants near me. Yes, there are Korean restaurants in Austin, and even when I lived in Colorado there were some, but none of them truly compare to a home-cooked meal. I wanted to convey how cooking my home food is amazing and wondrous experience but can also feel a bit alien at times due to the lack of Korean culture I am in direct contact with.
